In the Arenal Volcano National Park, there is a magnificent waterfall, La Fortuna Waterfall. La Fortuna means the fortune as the waterfall is named after the town, La Fortuna where it is located. The waterfall is fed by the Fortuna River which is likewise named after the town which is part of the Alajuela province. The hike over to the waterfall only takes around ten to fifteen minutes; where at the waterfall people then can enjoy the astounding scene of water cascading down a 200-foot or 70-meter drop.  Many tourists will go swimming in the clear and beautiful water. In the area, there are many hot springs due to the heat emitted from the Arena Volcano, but the water there is relatively chilly. Another activity that guests can participate in is waterfall rappelling and rafting. There are consistently high warm temperatures in the area and there is a high humidity. Many animals live in the habitat around the waterfall but in particular, there are many types of majestic birds and monkeys. The La Fortuna waterfall offers a worthwhile and spectacular scenic view and fresh cascading water for visitors to appreciate and take pleasure in.
